What Is Q355B H Section Steel

Q355B H-Beam is a high-efficiency hot rolled structural section steel under GB/T 1591-2018. Its symmetrical H-shaped cross-section delivers balanced bending and shear resistance compared with I-beam, channel steel and flat plate. It is the preferred load-bearing member for all kinds of steel structure projects.

We use standard export transportation packaging and bundle steel strips according to the size of carbon steel plates. According to our shipping experience, a 20-foot container can hold 22 tons of carbon steel, and a 40-foot container can hold 25 tons of carbon steel. For larger orders, we use bulk carriers to transport them for you at a cheaper price. In addition, we can customize packaging according to customer needs.

01.What's the difference between Q355B H-beam and Q235B H-beam?

Q355B owns higher yield strength (355MPa vs 235MPa). It can bear heavier loads, suitable for large factories, bridges and heavy-load steel structures. Q235B is for light load simple frames.

02.Does Q355B H-beam need heat treatment before construction?

No. Our Q355B H-beam is hot rolled and meets standard mechanical properties directly after delivery. Heat treatment like quenching and tempering is unnecessary for structural installation.

03.Can Q355B H-beam be used in low-temperature outdoor projects?

Q355B has room temperature impact toughness (20℃). If you need construction under minus temperature, we can provide Q355C/Q355D grades with low-temperature impact resistance.

04.Is your H-beam size accurate? Can you cut to fixed lengths?

Strict dimensional tolerance following GB/T 11263 standard. We provide free fixed-length cutting according to your construction drawings, no extra cutting fee for bulk orders.

05.Is Q355B easy to weld? Do I need special welding materials?

Q355B has excellent weldability. Ordinary low alloy welding rods are available. Preheating is only required for extra thick sections to avoid welding cracks.

06.Can you provide third-party inspection reports before shipment?

Yes. We support SGS, BV, TUV third-party inspection. Each batch is attached with official factory mill test certificate for customs clearance and project acceptance.
