S355JR steel plate is an unalloyed structural steel grade according to the European standard EN 10025 - 2:2004. Its main components are carbon, silicon, manganese, sulphur and phosphorus. Carbon, with a content of less than or equal to 0.24 per cent, is the main reinforcing element and has an important influence on hardness and strength. Silicon, with a content of less than or equal to 0.55 per cent, improves the strength and corrosion resistance of steel. Manganese is less than or equal to 1.60%, it is an important alloying element in steel, and can improve strength and toughness. The content of phosphorus and sulphur are both less than or equal to 0.025%, which are harmful elements in steel and need to be strictly controlled.
