The specific meaning of the grade designation is:
- S: Structural steel, indicating its primary use for load-bearing structural components.
- 355: Yield strength value (unit: MPa), indicating the steel's yield point at room temperature is no less than 355 MPa.
- J0: Impact test grade, where "J" denotes impact energy testing (V-notch), and "0" indicates the impact test temperature is 0°C. Impact energy Akv is no less than 27 J. This ensures toughness in low-temperature environments, preventing brittle fracture.
- WP: Weathering performance, specifically indicating that this steel grade incorporates alloying elements (copper, chromium, nickel, etc.) to form a dense, stable oxide rust layer in atmospheric environments, thereby significantly enhancing corrosion resistance.

Thickness Selection: Determine thickness based on load-bearing calculations to avoid unnecessary increases.
Standard Confirmation: For international trade, explicitly adhere to EN 10025-5 to prevent confusion with equivalent grades from other countries (e.g., China's Q355NH has different nickel content requirements).
Processing Requirements: For complex bending or stamping operations, choose controlled-rolled (CR) delivery condition for superior plasticity.
