High strength
The reasonable ratio of carbon and manganese elements makes the steel plate have high strength. Carbon effectively increases the strength and hardness of steel, while manganese strengthens ferrite and increases the strength and toughness of steel. The two together, so that ASTM A516 Gr 70 steel plate can withstand greater pressure and load.
Good toughness
The steel plate maintains good toughness at low to medium temperatures. The element silicon helps to improve the toughness and fatigue resistance of the steel.
