Store plates in a dry, well-ventilated area, preferably off the ground on wooden blocks or racks. If outdoor storage is unavoidable, use waterproof covers and ensure proper drainage. For long-term storage, apply a rust preventive oil or keep the original mill coating intact.

02.What welding methods are recommended for A516 Gr70?

Commonly used welding processes include:

SMAW (stick welding) – with low-hydrogen electrodes (e.g., E7018)

GMAW (MIG) – with ER70S-6 filler wire

SAW (submerged arc) – for thick plates

No preheating is typically required for plates under 38mm at room temperature. For thicker plates or low temperatures, preheat to 50–100°C.
