01.What are the differences between CCS A steel plate and ordinary carbon structural steel (such as Q235B)?
CCS A: Each batch of steel must be factory-approved by the China Classification Society (CCS). Each batch number has its own ship inspection certificate, and the surface of the steel plate must have a steel stamp marking (including the batch number, batch code, and certification mark). When the ship inspector conducts the acceptance at the shipyard, they only recognize the steel plates with the steel stamp and the quality guarantee certificate.
Ordinary carbon steel: Without classification society endorsement, it cannot be used for the main structure of the ship.
In simple terms, using non-steel plates as substitutes will directly result in the rejection of the ship inspection, and even affect the issuance of the ship launching permit.
