SA516/SA516M medium and low temperature pressure vessel carbon steel plate,There are four materials under the a516 standard, namely: SA516Gr55, SA516Gr60, SA516Gr65, SA516Gr70.
SA516 Heat treatment:
3.1 Steel plates of a thickness of 1.50in. (40mm) or less are normally supplied in rolled condition. Normalizing or stress-relieving normalizing plus stress-relieving steel plates can be ordered.
3.2 Steel plates with a thickness greater than 1.5in. (40mm) must be normalized.
Unless otherwise specified by the Buyer, when a notch toughness test is required for steel plates with a thickness of 1.5in. (40mm) or less, the steel plate shall be normalized.
3.3 If agreed by the Demander, a rate greater than that of cooling in air is permitted to improve toughness, but the steel plate shall subsequently be tempered in the range of 1100 to 1300 ° F (595 to 705 ° C).
