Customer Requirements
The customer was contracted to build six large LPG storage bullets for a gas processing facility in Abu Dhabi. The project required:
ASME SA516 Gr.70 certification – Full compliance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section II, Part A
EN10204 Type 3.2 inspection certificates – Third-party verification by an accredited body
Normalized heat treatment – To ensure low-temperature toughness down to -40°C (-40°F)
Ultrasonic testing (UT) – According to ASTM A435, 100% plate inspection
Full mill test reports (MTC) – Including chemical composition, tensile properties, and impact test results for each heat number
Material Supply
We supplied 320 tons of normalized SA516 Gr.70 plates from our mill stock. All plates met the following specifications:
