SKS3 tool steel
product key technologies

SKS3 tool steel Detailed introduction
SKS3 tool steel is known as "non-deformation steel", but the formation of a network of carbides is more sensitive. It is mainly used for cutting tools and measuring tools with small deformation, long and complex shape, and high-precision cold stamping dies (such as punching dies, stamping dies, bending dies, drawing dies, punching punches, finishing dies and other hardware dies) when quenching.
Uses of SKS3 tool steel
1, widely used in making the thickness of not more than 8mm punching die, stamping die, bending die, finishing die.
2, gauges, measuring tools, woodworking tools and lathe thimble, etc.
3, make guide bushing, thimble, die, wire needle, etc.
SKS3 is an alloy steel for cold working molds.

The main parameters of SKS3 tool steel are as follows
Main Ingredients (%)
Carbon (C)0.90 ~ 1.00
Silicon (Si)≤0.35
Manganese (Mn)0.90 ~ 1.20
Chromium (Cr)0.50 ~ 1.00
Tungsten (W)0.50 ~ 1.00
Phosphorus (P)≤0.030
Sulfur (S)≤0.03.

Physical/mechanical properties
Hardness: annealing hardness ≤217HB; Quenching hardness ≥60HRC.
Heat treatment process specification
Quenching: First preheat to 550-650 ° C, and then heat to 800-850 ° C, hardening in oil.
Tempering: heating to 150-200 ° C, staying at this temperature, and then quenching and cooling in still air.
Annealing: heating to 750-800℃, stay at this temperature for 1-3h, in the furnace to cool.
